"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness but of power. They are messengers of overwhelming grief and of unspeakable love." Washington Irving
This is a journey I have just really begun, one which I hope will bring about a life change, a mind change a change for the better. Of late there has been many, many tears. Tears are not something I do, I normally dig my heals in and shout, get angry but never cry, ever. Since I was a very little girl this was my reaction to the things I found unfair the things that hurt and tore at my heart. I guess it was self protection, which I guess got me to the here and now. But I cann't do this any more with THAT reaction so I cry, like the little girl should have cried!!!
When I read the quote above I feel a huge relief that in fact I am not being weak by letting the tears fall ................I am being powerful. Really powerful as I let my head acknowledge the pain in my heart instead of dismissing it. The hurts, rejection, being looked over, the comments and being dissmissed are all there in every tear that falls. The unmet needs, desires, dreams, hope's are all there in those tears. However I find a strange thing happening, I feel lighter freer like a little feather, this feels awesome. And out of those tears comes my Art Work, cause I feel the safest when I create, as God holds my hand and I can see him on my canvas feel him blessing me, giving me a voice. So when you gaze upon my paintings you will find a piece of my soul and a whole lot of God.
